Static isobaric process of titanium products
Because the density of the compact obtained during pressing is not uniform, the possibility of preparing large titanium compact by die pressing is limited. Therefore, the molding can only be made of small titanium products.
In titanium and titanium alloy powder, in order to improve the lubrication performance during forming, only zinc stearate and other lubricants can be used to moisten the sliding mold wall directly. At the same time, only a small press can be used to press the billet, and the gap operation process is adopted.
In the process of isostatic pressing, the transfer pressure of the fluid medium is equal in all directions. The elastic mold itself deforms when compressed, which is generally consistent with the compression of powder particles. Although there is some relative movement between the powder bodies and between the powder and the die wall at this time, sliding friction is generated. However, there is no significant relative motion between the elastic mold and the contact powder, and the external friction between them is very small. During isostatic pressing, because the pressure in all directions is equal, the static friction force should be equal at any point in the profile of the compact. There is no doubt that the density distribution of the compact is uniform along the profile. However, along the same transverse section of the compact, due to the influence of internal friction between powder particles, the density of the compact gradually decreases from the outside to the inside. The experimental results show that the density change is only 1.5%.
