How to determine whether the screw is titanium material

1. Appearance recognition: Observe the appearance of screws. Pure titanium screws and titanium alloy screws are similar to traditional stainless steel, copper, and iron screws, but high-end series of titanium screws can reach a higher level. Its appearance is beautiful, and sometimes it even gives off a cool light like a craft. Compared with iron screws and copper screws, titanium screws will appear brighter, with a cool light.

2. Scratch test: In the case of uncertainty, you can gently scratch the screw on the white ceramic. If the screw is made of titanium, it will leave a gray scratch on the white China. Stainless steel will not leave scratches on white China. However, it should be noted that some titanium products now in order to better user experience, the head of the product will be specially hardened, so that it is no longer easy to leave scratches.

3. Chemical testing: This is a more accurate method. Through chemical reactions, the composition of the material can be determined. For example, using nitric acid tests, pure titanium creates bubbles in an instant.

4. Price judgment: Because titanium is relatively expensive as a raw material for screws, the price is also a judgment basis. If the price of the screw is found to be abnormally low, then it may not be real titanium screws.

It should be noted that the titanium screws on the market are mainly pure titanium and titanium alloy two kinds. Pure titanium has good flexibility and oxidation resistance. Titanium alloys are made by mixing titanium with other metals to enhance their specific properties. In the selection and use of screws, should be based on their actual needs to determine the appropriate material.
