Application of titanium condenser in metallurgical equipment

Titanium equipment used in the metallurgical industry can extend the service life of equipment, improve labor productivity, improve product quality, extend the maintenance cycle of equipment, save maintenance costs, reduce environmental pollution, and simplify equipment, convenient operation, and improve the degree of mechanization and automation of the process. In the metallurgical industry, titanium is mainly used in hydrometallurgical equipment for non-ferrous metals. Hydrometallurgy process is generally under a certain temperature, pressure, with acid, alkali and various chemical solvents leaching minerals. The equipment used (such as the leaching tank, autoclave, stirring device in the leaching process, the filter screen plate, pump, valve, pipe in the filtration process, the electrolytic plate in the electrolytic process, the heat exchanger and the exhaust machine, the dust collection equipment, the flue, etc.) must be in contact with acids, alkalis, chemicals and various corrosive gases and soot for a long time, so it is susceptible to corrosion and mechanical wear at a certain temperature. Therefore, stainless steel or acid-resistant enamel, lead plate, lining and acid-resistant coating materials are often used in these equipment. Before the use of titanium materials, the equipment has serious corrosion, more accidents, and the solution smoke runs, bubbles, drops, and leaks seriously, resulting in large metal losses, high costs, poor working conditions, and a decline in product quality.

The application of titanium condenser in metallurgical industry has the following advantages. ① Improve corrosion resistance and service life. The corrosion resistance of titanium to ammonia in seawater and steam is good, so the service life is long, titanium is better than copper alloy, and the life of titanium refrigeration tube can reach 20 years.

② Good heat exchange. The excellent corrosion resistance of titanium can make titanium tubes much thinner than copper tubes. Although the thermal conductivity of titanium is lower than that of copper, the heat exchange capacity can be increased by 3%.

③ No leak proof accessory equipment is required. After the use of titanium condenser tube, the leakage rate is greatly reduced, saving processing time and money.

④ Can improve the flow speed of cooling water. Due to the good corrosion resistance of titanium, sediment and dirt are not easy to adhere to the surface of titanium, which helps to improve the flow speed of water.

⑤ Save power. Because the titanium tube is thinner than the copper tube, when the outer diameter is certain, the inner diameter of the titanium tube is larger, which can save the power of the pump. The use of titanium condenser can improve the operation rate and safety of the primary energy power station.

Titanium is used in the metallurgical industry for copper, nickel, cobalt, lead, zinc and other smelting equipment electrolytic cathode seed plate, heater, cooler, reactor, cathode roller, molybdenum smelting autoclave, copper turbulent cooling tower, coke plant dust catcher and pumps, valves, fans, pipes and so on. In addition, manganese dioxide electrolysis of dry battery raw materials also uses metal titanium anode. The practice shows that the application of titanium in these fields is feasible in production, technologically advanced, and the economic effect is remarkable.
