What are the methods to prevent rust and moisture for titanium alloy screws?

Titanium alloy screws exposed to the air are prone to rusting, so they need to be protected against moisture and humidity:

1. The selection of component insulation impregnating paint, such as epoxy resin or polyurethane impregnating paint. The paint should not contain volatile acids. For vibrating machinery, solvent-free paint should be used.

2. The use of melamine urethane paint for titanium alloy screws should adjust the curing temperature and curing time. A suitable temperature slightly higher than 130 degrees Celsius and a curing time longer than 180 minutes are appropriate. The process must be strictly followed, especially in hot and humid seasons, because from the perspective of the concept of rusting, the regular drying time of the sample paint factory may not be sufficient. Cars have a specific internal shape.

3. Surface corrosion treatment of titanium alloy screws refers to using various methods to maintain the metal surface, the purpose is to isolate the metal from the corrosive environment to inhibit the corrosion process and reduce the contact between the corrosive medium and the metal surface, achieving the purpose of preventing or slowing down corrosion.

Special attention should be paid to the selection of screw material technology:

1. The mechanical properties of the screw material, with high strength requirements. Some screws need a relatively high strength, so the strength of the selected screw material should be as high as possible.

2. The corrosion resistance performance of the material under working conditions, for some screws used in products with strong corrosion, this requires us to choose the corrosion resistance of strong steel wire.

3. The heat resistance of the material for working temperature requirements. Some titanium alloy screws are used in high-temperature operations, so the high-temperature performance of the screw material needs to be selected.

4. The performance requirements of the material processing production process. Some titanium alloy screws need to deal with difficulties such as lines, hardness, etc. in the production process, so the hardness of the selected screw material should be suitable for processing and production.

5. The selection of screw material should be influenced by the weight, price, procurement and other factors of the screw. Considering these aspects of materials appropriately is a better choice.
